Description

Dunlawton Sugar Mill Gardens is a beautiful botanical garden and historic attraction in Port Orange, Florida. Set on ten acres, the gardens invite visitors to explore tropical plants, native Florida landscaping, winding pathways, historic sugar mill ruins, and unique features such as stone dinosaurs, a children’s garden, a human sundial, and an herb garden shaped like Florida.

Operated by the Botanical Gardens of Volusia, the property combines local history, nature, and peaceful outdoor exploration in one memorable destination. Visitors can enjoy collections of azaleas, camellias, magnolias, palms, succulents, ferns, and other plants while learning about the site’s plantation, sugar mill, and former Bongoland amusement park history. The gardens are open daily, and admission is free, although donations are appreciated.
