Lion & Hyena Ridge Opens at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is opening Lion & Hyena Ridge in 2026, marking the park’s largest and most immersive new animal habitat in more than a decade. The new Edge of Africa experience features expanded lion and hyena habitats, enhanced viewing areas and opportunities for guests to observe the animals up close
.Florida Waters Opens at ZooTampa
ZooTampa is introducing Florida Waters, a new attraction focused on the animals and ecosystems found throughout the state. The experience is designed to highlight Florida wildlife while expanding the zoo’s conservation and educational offerings for visitors.
New Sea Lion Habitat Coming to The Florida Aquarium
The Florida Aquarium is preparing a new sea lion habitat as part of its continuing expansion in downtown Tampa. The addition will create another major animal experience for families and visitors exploring the Tampa Riverwalk area.
New Restaurants
The Landon Opens in South Tampa
The Landon opened in March 2026 in the former 717 South location, bringing a new elevated American dining concept to South Tampa. The restaurant features a polished atmosphere and a menu designed around contemporary takes on familiar favorites.
Fresh Kitchen Opens New South Tampa Flagship
Fresh Kitchen opened a new flagship location in Hyde Park in June 2026. The fast-casual restaurant returned to South Tampa with a larger space and its popular menu of customizable bowls, fresh proteins, vegetables and gluten-free options.
The Sapphire Debuts in Tampa’s Westshore District
The Sapphire opened in May 2026 as a new supper club and lounge in Tampa’s Westshore District. The upscale concept combines dining, cocktails, live entertainment and nightlife in one setting.
Lumbre Opens at Rome Collective
Lumbre opened in Tampa in July 2026 from the team behind Michelin-starred Rocca. The Spanish-inspired restaurant features wood-fired cooking and a menu created by executive chef Nick Orr at Rome Collective.
New Retail
PAIGE Opens First Florida Store in Hyde Park Village
PAIGE opened its first Florida retail location at Hyde Park Village in 2026. The fashion boutique offers premium denim, knitwear, outerwear, leather goods and accessories for both women and men.
New Boutiques Open in St. Petersburg
Several new locally focused retailers have opened in St. Petersburg, including Coastal House Vintage in the Grand Central District, Gypsea Blooms on Central Avenue, The Carpenter’s Daughter women’s boutique and The Blue Urban Project, a veteran-owned thrift shop.
BRITTO, Rowan and Bissinger’s Open at International Plaza
International Plaza has welcomed several new retailers in 2026, including BRITTO, ear-piercing and jewelry studio Rowan, and Bissinger’s Handcrafted Chocolatier. Additional fashion, jewelry and lifestyle brands are scheduled to open later this year.

Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine is preparing to open a new Tampa Bay location, bringing its menu of traditional Turkish dishes, fresh bread, grilled meats and Mediterranean-inspired specialties to the region. The restaurant is expected to open later in 2026.
Kendra Scott and Lululemon Expanding in Tampa Bay
