Catch and Cook SNOOK, a Florida FAVORITE!

by All Florida Stuff 19th September 2023

Ah, the Florida Snook, the fancy scientific name for a fish that's a total celebrity along the sunny coastlines of Florida. This bad boy has got it all - a sleek and elongated body, a fancy lateral line, and oh, let's not forget that distinct black lateral stripe. It's like the Snook is saying, "Look at me, I'm the coolest fish in town!"

But wait, there's more! These fish are like chameleons, changing colors like they're auditioning for a fashion show. The juvenile Snook starts off with a yellowish hue and a snazzy dark stripe running along its sides. As it grows up, that stripe fades away, just like our hopes of ever being as cool as this fish. The adult Snook is all about that silvery look with a touch of greenish tint on its upper body, and a belly as white as a freshly laundered t-shirt.

And let's not forget about those features that make the Snook a true fishy superstar. With a slightly sloping forehead and a big mouth filled with sharp teeth, these guys are like the rock stars of the underwater world. They use those pearly whites to chow down on smaller fish and crustaceans, like they're having a never-ending seafood buffet.

So, next time you're out in the Florida waters, keep an eye out for the fabulous Florida Snook. Just remember, this fish is the definition of "fashionably fin-tastic" and catching one is like winning the lottery of the angling world. Good luck, and may the Snook be with you!

Now to cook that bad boy...well let's let Darcizzle Offshore do the talking for us.  Feel free to join her Youtube channel.
